COUNTDOWN to Herald WASH Innovations at the ISNTD Water Conference

Monday, 24 Oct 2016

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene have been identified as a key component in efforts to fight Neglected Tropical Diseases.

According to the Water, Sanitation & Hygiene for Accelerating and sustaining Progress on NTDs Global Strategy for 2015 - 2020 NTDs thrive in areas of poverty and dirt and tend to be prevalent in places with unsafe drinking water, less salubrious environs, poor sanitation and limited or non-existent access to health.

This is why the ISNTD Water Conference is important and puts the spotlight on a very important issue.

Suzy Campbell from COUNTDOWN will be presenting on  “The role of WASH in schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminth control”.

The ISNTD Water Conference is being held at the Institute of Child Health in London on 1st November. The focus will be on WASH innovation/technologies for NTDs, global partnerships for WASH & NTD Collaboration with workshops ranging from WASH solutions & vector control to learning and sharing on measurement and evaluation.
